To start the year 2008 I DECIC post the video of The National playing "Fake Empire" on the David Letterman show. This New York band gave one of the best albums last year, called The Boxer. Mixing post-punk of Joy Division Nick Cave-influenced melodic and harmonious overlapping arrangements that make the most of their songs musical gems, both in composition and in terms of interpretation.
